Chloë Smith (class of '19) brother appointed to West Point

Ryan Smith, 17, of Highland has accepted an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point for the class is 2021. He was nominated by Congressman Paul Cook for this coveted opportunity.

Currently a senior at Aquinas High School in San Bernardino, Ryan is an AP scholar and honors student, a Cadet Colonel in the California Cadet Corps, and will soon complete the requirements to be awarded the Boy Scout rank of Eagle Scout.

He also received appointments to the U.S. Air Academy, and several universities, but chose West Point in order to pursue development as a scholar-leader. Ryan will join his sister, Chloë Smith who also attends West Point (class of 2019). Both will graduate with Bachelors degrees, and be commissioned as Second Lieutenants serving in the United States Army. Mother and father are very proud of both of them!
