Dothan Dolphins do well in Chip George Classic

The seventh annual Chip George Classic Swim Meet was hosted by the Dothan Dolphins swim team April 8-9 with over 125 swimmers, with the Dolphins had 52 swimmers competing.

In the 8-under girls, Ayla Bushong finished first overall, improving five best times. Abby Bolinger finished fifth overall, improving three best times and Sadie Wilkes finished sixth overall. In the g irls 9-10 division, Madelyn Bushong finished second overall, improving four best times.

In the boys 9-10 division, Kaleb Fielder finished first overall, improving four best times. Seth Short finished fourth overall, improving six best times. Callahan McCarthy finished sixth overall, improving three best times.

In the girls 11-12 division, Isabelle Melanson finished first overall, improving two best times. Gabriella Bushong finished third overall, with four best times. Kai Zhang finished fifth with five best times and Kloei Kiefer finished sixth with nine best times.

In the boys 11-12 , Judson Stanford finished first overall with 10 best times. Carl Forrester finished second, with eight best times. Gabriel Marin finished fifth with four best times and Cameron Nichols finished sixth with three best times.

In the g irls 13-14, Kate Baker placed second overall with four best times. Savannah Bloom placed fourth with four best times and Petra Ozbun placed fifth with two best times.

Josh Melancon finished first overall in the b oys 13-14 division improving 10 best times. Saylor Strength finished second overall in the girls 13-14 division with two best times.

The boys senior division had an impressive finish with Wen Zhang taking first overall, improving two best times. Seaton Bloom finished second overall, improving four best times. Alex Gauldin finished fifth overall and Nick Swanlaw finished seventh overall with three best times.

The remaining Dothan Dolphins that improved their best times were: Gabriella Baker, Wyatt Baker, Sheldon Bloom, Ian Bolinger, Emmalee Borcik, Braden Ginther, Abigail Givens, Peyton Hall, Ruthie Helder , Hensley Hinderliter, Samara Holland, Allie Melancon, Cassidy Ryan, Seth Short, Anton McBride, Sarah Short, William Stanley, Gabriel Strength and Lillian Walding .
