Fort Rucker releases name of soldier found dead on post

A soldier found dead on post at Fort Rucker on Monday has been identified as 34-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Two Andre G. Nance.

Fort Rucker military police are investigating Nance's death.

According to information from the Fort Rucker Public Affairs Office, Nance was previously stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and was at Fort Rucker for the Warrant Officer Advance Course. His next duty station would have been Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

According to Fort Rucker spokesperson Lisa Eichhorn, at 7:42 a.m. on Monday an IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) employee called emergency responders after finding an unconscious person in lodging on post. An Army flight surgeon later declared him dead.
